About the Roundtable
Expected Outcomes

There are several expected Roundtable outcomes (based on the conduct of the Roundtable as well as on the post-workshop report/briefing materials):

  • Participants will gain increased awareness of information-related constraints and opportunities of relevance to their own areas of expertise.
  • Approaches will be identified for overcoming known data or analytical constraints
  • New ideas will be generated and new opportunities will be uncovered for transforming crop improvement information systems (based on the unique cross-disciplinary nature and dialogue-focused format of the Roundtable)
  • Preliminary prioritization of strategically important short- and longer-term potential actions, particularly those that might benefit from collective action (based on an initial qualitative description of potential payoffs)
  • An emerging agenda/portfolio of complementary actions and an initial indication of individuals and institutions having a stake in those actions, either individually or collectively
  • Signals from potential donors/funders on the feasibility of attracting investments in specific elements of the emerging information systems intervention portfolio.
